Sharon:

I know very little about glazes fired that low--but remember copper is
an active flux. I do not see what whiting would do, except give you
more calcium, of which you already have plenty, and you do not need
more flux. (That long discussion of the function of calcium a while
ago, was complex and interesting--but whiting still is added to glazes
to make them melt better) Rather than adding titanium you might want
to add rutile, or powdered ilmenite. The iron in rutile will mute the
copper a bit. You also might try blends of copper and cobalt and
rutile. That should give you softer, gentler greens.

Also try your glaze over a white slip--to make sure it is not something
in your clay that is affecting the color.
