In 1986 I've bought my fiber gas Portokiln. For 10 years I've fired to cone 10. Kept religiously my log book and know how the hundreds of firings went on.
In 1995 switched to midfiring. The last time I used it was in 2001 for my Haecceity Gallery Solo. It is still working as good as ever.
I wish I had it here.
I wonder, how long would it still go?

Susan,
For tax planning, the expected life of a kiln, like most equipment, is 7
years. This is hopefully a lot shorter than the anticipated functional life
of the kiln.
