Stephen,

Fire slower between 600F and 1100F. This will allow the chemical water in
the the Murray's Borate to leave without boiling off the glaze coat.

Hope that helps,

John Britt

I just substituted Murry's borate for Gerstly borate in tried and true
glazes calling for large quantities Gerstly borate and met with near
disaster. Luckily i heard a noise in the kiln before i turned it up to high
and closed the lid. I looked in and saw that the glaze was popping off of
everything with these two glazes. Anyone have a plausable explanation to
coroberate what I have deduced , and a possible solution so these glazes
are not an absolute waste. I need the blue and the green i cannot now use!
