Dear potters,
I will be offering a 10 day pottery workshop with Zapotec masters in
Oaxaca Mexico June 20-29th. We will dig clay, build vessels and fire
Zapotec style as well as visit well-known potters Irene Aguilar, Dolores
Porras and Angelica Vasquez as well as unknown rural masters to see stone
kiln fired, oak bark stained pottery and black reduction ware. Along the way
we'll also visit pre-Hispanic ruins, post-Hispanic churches, enjoy
fabulous Oaxacan cuisine and see a side of this wonderful place that most
outsiders
don't get the priviledge of seeing.
Workshop cost is $1295 for 7-8, $1,595
for 5-6. That includes hotel, most meals, all materials, 2 guides, 2
teachers and a small group for low impact travel.
