Howdy y'all:

Put up or shut up, and I hate to shut up (ask David).

Help me sleep naked in the open. Go here then submit your faculty
critique. Please no words longer than three syllables; me head hurts.

Dear Taylor Hendrix,
Just had a look at your site.
An interesting and complex collection.
You describe the last example thus <favorites. The whitish glaze on the bottom is a opalescent glaze a
fellow clayarter gave me. I changed it a bit to eliminate the ghastly
borate. It does get blue color where thick on dark clay. I double and
tripple dipped just the lip with my other two green glazes to get the
nice drips. Perhaps I should have covered the entire form to the foot.
Oh well. >>
Reconsider eliminating the Bare Clay Perhaps the prominent horizontal
line between the bare clay and the termination of the glaze field
needs to be eliminated as it is a distraction. As a formal geometric
element it is not in harmony with the oscillating line made by the
fluid glazes of the upper colour field. There are several ways by
which this might be done but I leave it to you to think and invent
processes for yourself.
Well young fellow, you did ask and I am trying to be constructive.
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis. Redhill, South Australia

Howdy Taylor;

From where you sit: If you only have 3 adjectives to describe your forms,
what would they be?

I like Row 3, #2, I'd say, just for this one: subtle, graceful, tenderness.

The others are a bit all over the place. I regret to say. But you know that,
:-) It's really couragous of you to show all you've got. Well done.

I have to pressure my tutor before he gave me a private assessment of my
throwing. I almost have to beat him with a rolling pin to get it. In my
community college, there's not any group critiques after assignments. The
students are too self conscious and the teachers are afraid [or too stiff,
their upper lip?] to hurt their feelings. What they gonna do when they go
out to the real world? That's why I'm a ceramic course drop out this term.
