signing posts and small kiln use.

And in a telephone call you identify yourself at the beginning, and customarily not at the end. And, of course, an e-mail is identified in the "FROM:" entry at the top, which is why most folks who grew up with e-mail don't sign at the bottom, but those for whom an e-mail is a substitute for a written note usually consider it rude not to sign at the end.

There is one very good reason for signing ClayArt notes -- the moderators have asked that we do so. They do the work, so they make the rules. That's the reason for doing it, and that's why I created a signature file in the account I use for ClayArt messages, which I devoutly hope will attach to this message.

Why don't you consider your post just as you would a note to someone? You sign your name to that, don't you??

Doesn't seem too difficult to comprehend.
And why someone would threaten to leave the List because they were =
required to have a signature is beyond me, the world filled with control =
freaks who want it their way or no way.
Hrrumph. Get with it, folks, it's only polite.

Pam in Seattle,
where is it gloriously sunny and lovely. Spring is here, at least for =
today. Lots of lilacs are blooming, those in a sunny spot, tho mine =
aren't yet. A miniature French with tiny pale lavender blossoms that =
smell just wonderful. Maybe in another week or so, as they're starting =
to color a bit. The daffs and tulips have come and gone.
For those of you who remember when I was searching for someone in the =
Minneapolis area, a person I had supposedly purchased a small kiln from, =
I never did get the kiln and it was hell to pay to get my money back. =
Threatened to report it as Internet Fraud, which calls out the White =
Collar Crime gang from the FBI! Finally got the money back, tho in 2 =
payments.
I subsequently got a small Axis kiln and have yet to use it. Lower =
coil is getting replaced.
How do these fire compared to a big one? any good tips?

The "From" at the top does not always identify the writer. There are some
email e-dresses that defy recognition of the author. I agree an email should be
signed and also geographically identified. It's nice to know where the writer
is from. After all we don't have area codes as with the telephone. Cheers all!
