Marilu, for most glazes, I've not noticed that it makes much difference.
But if a glaze has a tendency to crawl, I've noticed that it will do that
much less if it's left to dry overnight.

Hi, Yesterday and today I mixed and sieved all ingredients
for glaze tests-(electric cone 6 oxidation)
and will be skimming off
excess water and doing a final stirring
tonight and tomorrow. Can someone give me
advice as to how long I should wait after
I glaze a piece or tile before I fire it?
Can I put it in the kiln right away or
am I supposed to wait longer? I looked
in archives and books but can't find
anything.-Thank you-Marilu

Could probably be fired right away as long as the start of the firing
goes up slowly.
But on the other hand, this would be a bad habit to get into as you
may have problems with larger, thicker work.
Best to let sit for a day to allow water to evaporate.
