Hoy's is one of, if not the largest, supplier of glass-related goods in =
the universe. Awesome place!! Their catalog includes a full line of =
kilns, tools, and other stuff used with glass fusing and blowing. They =
have the best prices you will find anywhere. The catch is that they only =
sell to wholesale accounts and schools. Really big minimum order =
requirements. If they won't talk to you or sell to you, contact a local =
stained glass shop and ask for them to do the ordering for you. They do =
have a web site but again you must have an account with them. Many =
schools/colleges have access to them as well with smaller order =
minimums. Check around. I have a school account but cannot order for =
others because of tax laws.=20

Subject: Re: Kaowool Ceramic Paper Source

Hi Fred and all,

I'm not sure what Fred used but I use my kaowool paper over and over
again. Yes, it loses its "starch" after first firing and gets
progressively more fragile as continually used. But I just carefully
remove it onto a special board, or roll up a big piece, and save it for =
as
long as possible. I have a small roll and hope to never have to shop =
for
it again.

At that time I was talking about this on clayart alot. There is a glass
supplier near Chicago, Ed Hoy's International, 800-323-5668, that
sells "thinfire shelf paper" .008" a 250 foot roll for 319.00 in 1997
catalog I have. They list it for 4.25 per sheet as well. They also =
list
1/8" and 1/32" stuff. My advice would be for somebody who wants this =
stuff
to organize a clayart buying pool and share a roll. I just called them =
to
find out width of roll for you it is 41" so that is a VERY GOOD
DEAL!!!!! Making that phone call reminded me that this is a hard-nosed
operation about getting past go so be armed with your biz voice and info
when you call. (That's 854 sq ft for 319.=3D37c/sq ft. More like it, =
huh?
