Thank you Earl K. in all the languages I know.
Thank you Taylor and Wayne, but, said she primly, besides the fact that =
two gorgeous young men showing up on my doorstep would create talk! it =
would be against my principles. No, honest. I have argued for 50 years =
and more that as craftsmen we dance with the one that brung us. Cardew =
whom I worship in his autobio kindof admitted he had done it wrong by =
trying to adapt British pottery techniqus etc to Africa rather than =
studying FIRST what Africa offered. When people like the Wildenhains =
and the Natzlers came here they adapted what they knew as craftsmen to =
American conditions. When gas became so pricey and snooty people =
suddenly were actually TALKING to the lowlives who had been firing =
electric and to c.6 for eons, I snickered , and felt no sympathy, =
because a craftsman adapts to what s/he is offered. =20
So the fact is I do no dye my hair, I do not use wrinkle removing cream, =
I am adapting my potting to what I CAN do.. The Obasano gama needs =
repair, and I have decided she will retire if the MD thinks that staking =
and stokinfg ain't where the next ten years are at. I will build a =
small gas kiln and sit there drinking chamomile tea and turning taps.=20
But thank you, gentlemen, I'll see you in my dreams....
Oh joy and bliss and body piercing. Once more and again rituals of =
"primitive" people's are being used by the West for fun and ego =
satisfaction. The joy of desacration of the rites and rituals of the =
"Primitive". It makes a great deal of painful sense that folk who run =
around naked should mark their bodies to say: I am a hero of the X =
people; I am a Queen; I am a fisherman..... (just one of the ways "we" =
endeared ourselves to Native Americans). ....I have skipped all the =
posts on this person they are talking about in true pure disgust. Bad =
enough to be waited on at the bank by a little person with studs in her =
lip and tongue.....
Susan is right. Some years ago, I read it in CM, a man used silicone =
stuff of the type used in window caulking and mixed it with clay and =
used it in a caulking gun. I tried it and hated it as the stuff glued =
my fingers together etc. Just felt yukky. And I have no idea how safe =
the fumes of that stuff are in a kiln. But, pace Ivor, what about =
eggwhite? Buy some dry egg white and see what happens. Karo syrup =
might work....
I am fond of Baboon behind the mountain, and please tell us what it is =
in the Afrikaans. Then I can impress my Dutch cousins.
I like " Don't trouble trouble till trouble troubles you." =20

I think the best type of body modification is aging gracefully. There is no
look better than looking like you've had a full life!
