Hush, Dolita....... you're making me re-think
my Return to Throwing after quite a long
time away ....... 14 months basically away
because of family issues ..... then a couple
months before that because I was focusing
on handbuilding.
As I read your post and
the mayor's response, I'm thinking I'd do
well to start with 100 mugs..... then 100 bowls....
any size .... but same general shape. Maybe
even 200 of each. Actually, as I write, I can
feel the juices flowing .... yes, this is a good
idea! It doesn't feel nearly as daunting as it
did the first time I went through this exercise.
Goodness knows I have enough glazes
......... and now slips, yea for me!..... and
decoration possibilities ... lurking
in my cerebellum yearning to come out and
participate.
Thank you, Dolita. But I'll not be cutting mine
in half .... not this time around.

In the Mojave where I've agreed to be part of
the Open Studio tour in October as well as
to participate in a couple of shows........ what
have I done??? I've been in shows before, and
seemed to be received well......... but that was
before I knew what "good"....... just "good".....
is ... what professional is ...... what sloppy
is ...... now I use three
of those pots as toiletbrush holders. That's
ok...... the world needs toiletbrush holders,
too......
