Hi Lili,
Have you heard of Lowell Baker's injection fired sawdust kilns? From what
I've heard they are extremely efficient and amazing heat conductors, reaching
cone 11-12 I think? Look into them if that is the direction you want to go...
just a thought....

"here on Long Island where I just got back from seeing an incredible local
band... "Funk Filharmonik"... an amazing 12 piece band that's been playing
together for over 18 years... playing the sounds of Earth, Wind, & Fire... Tower of
Power... Steely Dan... and more... a five piece horn section... and tonight,
three former/current vocalists from the Tower of Power band... all up on
stage... all singing together... at once... truly amazing... and unfortunately,
had to leave early... as they were still playing their hearts out when we left
at 2:00 AM... wayyyy past our bedtime... for a couple of "old parents" during a
weeknight... but hey... you only live once... right? "

My tiny brain is now churning all about sawdust.
I know that sawdust generally is " injected", but visualioze this:
The Bourry idea adapted. Instead of one firebox along the side of the kiln,
two or three fire boxes burning sawdust. It seems to me--and I am totally
speculating, have no idea--that sawdust burns very well if not too thickly
applied. Hence I would think that several small fire boxes would allow a fair
amount of sawdust to burn at one time withoug choking itself.
Any ideas?
