Hi Karen,
I just know some things as a nurse, which I still do part time. I =
know you'll be weak and swollen for some time. I would try to do =
everything I can to increase your range of motion and hand strength. If =
you are going to get chemo and radiation, this will delay your recovery =
time also. If you throw, this may not be realistic for awhile, except =
for small pieces.
There are people who get a debilitating illness or event, and let =
it become who they are, and there are other people who it just becomes a =
part of. (My cousin was paralyzed in a cemetary 1 1/2 years ago by a =
piece of a lawn mower that broke off and stabbed her in the back-it took =
some time, but she is back mentally)
Besides taking good care of yourself, you could look at this as a =
time to explore something new, some new technique or process you didn't =
have time for before. I can't think of any way to increase your =
strength better than with clay. I can only wish for you that it bring =
you peace and happiness and healing. I can't imagine a more versatile =
and healing medium. Best wishes.
