Do you have a closet full of bisqueware? Do you roll you eyes and sign
deeply at the mention of glaze calculation? Are you a victim of
shivering, shelling, crazing, dunting, thermal ratchetting or other
ceramic incompatibilities? If the answer if YES, or if your curiosity is
peaked, set aside your fear and loathing of technology and spend a
weekend with potter Jim Robinson. Jim will excite, inspire and relieve
your anxieties in the area of clay and glazes. He will field questions
and provide information for potters working in high, mid or low
temperatures, and will address the intricacies and applicability of
several methods of glaze calculation, along with material selection and
clay body blending. His enthusiastic approach towards this subject could
possibly change your perspectives and attitudes towards completeing
those unfinished masterpieces.=20

A studio potter since 1971, Jim lives and works in Southern Oregon's
Bear Creek Valley and has written several technical articles on clay and
glaze formulation for Studio Potter Magazine. He has taught many
workshops across the country and given several presentations at NCECA
(most recently a clay doctor at NCECA 2003). His work has been
exhibited in many shows throughout the U.S.
