David, just as an aside, when we built our new house two years ago I planned
on having Formica countertops. The builder talked us into Corian, which was
more expensive, but I'm glad she did. It has a warmth and luster that
Formica just doesn't have. Furthermore, if it gets scratched or worn it can
be buffed back to mint condition. When you replace your countertops, at
least consider Corian. I think you'd like it a lot.
