I have been studying the traditional maiolica from Deruta Italy and I am
trying to find a recipe for a low fire cone 09 -ish base glaze. This is the
temp that is used in most shops in Italy now for traditional maiolica that
is about 920* c or 1688* F. Does any one out there have any clue on a white
glaze, the word in Italian is smalto bianco.
I use the pigements that I bought in Deruta for the low fire glaze. I
have tried them using a higher fire white about cone 06 but this is
actually too hot for some of the colors ( which are recommended to be fired
at 920*C) Thanks--------Ricky of Luna Parc
