For those of you in Southern California, we are having one of our
multi-annual pit fire events here at the
Nottingham Center for the Arts.
Although the Giant Pit Fire ( 36 ft. x 6 ft. x 5 ft. ) is for folks to
do a ceramics pit fire; the party isn't just for ceramists. It's for all
artist / crafts persons and their friends.
We will have Flamework Glass demonstrations going in the main studio
for all to enjoy, a nice fire pit to sit around, lots of interesting
artists to meet, and lots of food and drink.
There will be glass artists, fine woodworkers, clay artists , and many
others attending.
The Giant pit will be lighted around a 1/2 hour before sunset and then
the party will begin.
This is a free event but we ask that all bring a potluck main dish to
share. We will have the bbq's going so you can cook up whatever you want
( we do provide some hot dogs and hamberges with all the fixings ) ,
along with coolers of beer, wine, and soft drinks. We will also have
bowls of chips and saulsa available.
Feel free to bring friends and children.
There is camping and RV space on site and lots of inexpensive motel room
within a block or two from the center.
Directions and Maps are on our web site along with information on past
pit fires.
Again; this event is free to all. Please RSVP so we will have an idea
how many are comming.
