pottery related tendonitis/cold water

Hi Cat,
I have triggerfinger, and because it is in six fingers, surgery on all is
not recommended. I go to a physical therapist who does ultra sound, but
sshe also recommended ice. So I keep a deep pot of cold water in my
refrigerator, where I can easily slip my hands in, one at a time, several
times a day. It really helps with the swelling, and the swelling is what
causes the pain, at least in my case.

I hope this helps.

Rikki,

Try going off all dairy... it worked for me!

Hi!
I have to agree with Gayle. I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel 5+ years
ago. I always seemed to end up pregnant when I was scheduled for surgery,
so never had it. At the beginning of the year we went vegan (vegetarian -
no dairy) and the pain was TOTALLY gone (that was an incredibly amazing
day when I realized my hands weren't hurting). We have since added dairy
back into our diet (mainly cheese) and I can tell when I've had too much
just by the pain. My mom was at her doctors last week and mentioned this
to her. The doctor said it's the hormones in the dairy products (and meat)
that causes the carpal tunnel (and other problems) to act up. I haven't
worked with clay since I started with the CT problems, I don't do any
repetitive motions, and my CT continued to advance. A simple (yet
difficult) diet change ended years of pain. I'm now getting back into clay
(yipee!) and look forward to learning so much here.
Thanks-
Megan
