We have a wonderful and successful fabric
artist in our town. Some of her work depicts
desert images and local petroglyphs .... many
of which she creates with her own blocks. A
couple of months prior to having to close the
studio for a time, we began a collaboration,
which was wonderful for me. =20

I had use of several of her blocks to stamp
images into clay for platters, cylinder vases,
mugs and wall hangings. They were working
well for both of us. My name and logo was
on the pots accompanied by a card that stated
"in collaboration with blankblank." Since we
were showing at the same places, we felt that
customers would respond favorably to having
the images in both fabric and clay.

We didn't have an opportunity to follow through
all the way, but may pick up again later. I=20
appreciated the images (or sections of prints
since some are very long) in clay as much as
I do in fabric.=20

I see the fabric art wherever I go
since it's quality stuff and many desert women
have a closetfull of my friend's work. When we're
in the city and wearing blank's clothes, be it Los=20
Angeles, New York or London .. we invariably are
quizzed about who did the work and where can
it be purchased.

In the Mojave where I'm facing the hard fact that
six months have passed and I can no longer
use the excuse that I'm a member of the Dead
Husband's Society to avoid doing what I need
to do. Drat. Just when I was settling in, too.......
(if this seems irreverent..... then we're not in
the same place at this precise moment.... that's all....)
