Attached is an MSDS of Blackbird from Hammill & Gillespie. It is my
understanding that Laguna's SG-758 Barnard Sub Blend is the same as this
(their website provides this MSDS as well. It lists a fusion range of
1569-1785 Celsius (I convert that to 2856.2-3245 Farenheit, but double
check my math)

It is good to keep old fashioned notebooks right along with the fancy =3D
lovely new stuff.
Digging through mine: Ron Roy posted a Blackbird/Barnard substitute. =3D
Which goes like this:
Red Art 56.5
Kentucky Ball Clay (OM4) 18
Silica 25.5
Fe2O3 23.5
MnO2 5.5
Digital Fire gave analysis as:
CaO .600
K2O 1.00
MgO .700
Na2O .600
TiO2 .200
Al2O3 7.6
SiO2 47
Fe2O3 33.9
Of course do not know if Ron and Digital used the same batch of Barnard =
=3D
for their analyses. In other words: Barnard, like all mined materials, =3D
varied from batch to batch.
Or to put it another way: Test with your red clay (not clay body, =3D
regular clay) adding some MnO2 and extra iron...should do ok after a few =
=3D
tests.
