Greetings!
I am not a member of this list so please reply to me off list.
I am hoping some of you can help me track down a commerical pottery that =
operated in Erwin, TN in the 1940s. Dinnerware was purchased from this =
pottery in 1945 for use in the newly constructed dining hall of Penland =
School of Crafts. I have a photograph showing the china being used and =
a letter thanking the folks who gave the china. The letter has this to =
say about the dishes:
"Another thing that pleases me about these dishes is that they are =
made from our own local caokin [sic] and feldspar, and that always lends =
romance. People who come always like to know that about the dishes we =
use.
"And I like this particular pattern, and think it is one of the =
prettiest ones they make at Erwin..."
We do no longer have any of these dishes but I would like to track down =
a place setting for the archives if I can determine the maker and name =
of the pattern.
Thanks for any information or leads.
