A memorial service for long time San Antonio potter Harding Black who passed
away on May 2nd at 92 will be held Tuesday June 2nd at 6pm at the Ruiz House
where Harding started his first ceramic courses in 1933, on the grounds of
the Witte Museum in San Antonio Texas. 3801 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78209.
Many friends and acquaintances will attend. KLRN, the local public
television station's documentary video on Harding Black will be shown as
well.
3 years before Harding's death the San Antonio Potters Guild established an
award in honor of Harding Black for the San Antonio Art League, perhaps the
oldest continuing art organization in San Antonio.

Now the HARDING BLACK MEMORIAL AWARD, designated to be awarded to an
outstanding ceramic artist participating in each years San Antonio Art
League Show. Donations to the Harding Black Memorial Award are being
