Studio (and potter) will be needing a home:
For the last six years I've been living in the rural
Skykomish Valley, but in a year or so, (maybe sooner), I'll be
getting a divorce, and will have to move. I'd like to stay in
East King or Snohomish County, since I enjoy my work at the
Kirkland Arts Center.
I have a full studio: 4 wheels, slab roller, 4 electric
kilns, 24-cu foot gas kiln, raku kiln, and all the accoutrements.
I've been making pots for 24 years, teaching for 17 years. My
friends say that what I need is to meet one of those Microsoft
early retirees who's just getting into pottery, wants a teacher,
who'll install me on a homestead and support me in the style to
which I'd like to become accustomed.
But in the real world, I'd like to find a place to rent where
I can live in my (small) trailer, and a shop, barn, or other
outbuilding with 220, to turn into a studio. My work can be seen
at:
http://www.firetrail.com/~pcolyar.
As an added incentive, I'll be bringing along the bricks, burners
and plans for a small wood/salt kiln (with propane assist), that
I haven't built here because of the uncertainty in my life.
So, please spread the word, especially those of you who know
people in rural areas who'd like some income in exchange for
giving up a little space.
Oh yeah, if you know of anyone who'd like to date a 55 year
old potter, pass 'em along! Thanks! Pat Colyar, in
gorgeous Gold Bar, WA
