Has anyone experimented with sintering glazes on to their pots in
order to transport them?
I will be taking work to a distant wood-fired kiln, and I am
interested in raw glazing the pots. I don't want to transport the
raw pots as they will be too fragile. I was thinking of firing the
raw glazed pots to around 010 or 08 in order to harden them and the
glazes. Is this likely to cause any problems with the glazes?
Thanks for any advice which you can give!

Kathleen,
I haven't tryed that but don't see why it wouldn't work. Make sure you
pack them well. Take some small amounts of glaxe for patching and you
should be fine. Enough ash from the fire can cover a multitude of sins.
