Does anyone have a critique of the Amaco T-4 Slab Roller? I am looking at purchasing a "portable" slab roller, and I was interested in this one. Have you used the Amaco T-4? What did you think? Do you have a better suggestion?

Thank you,

The T-4 is also known as the Brent Mini SRC. It's great as a slab
"smoother" but not really powerful enough to roll a lump of clay into a
slab. (NOTE: This is feedback that has been given to me by people who
have used it. I myself, have not)
If you are a serious "slabber" who just wants a slabroller to take to
demos etc. I'd look in another direction. My Dad designed a portable
slabroller concept for our local school district years ago. The
district purchased a Northstar slabroller (not the package). Dad bought
some plywood and metal "parts" to make hinges and attached them to the
slabroller so that the plywood, when unfolded creates the workspace, but
when folded, creates a "suitcase" for the slabroller. I'm describing
this from pictures Dad took. I don't have his actual plans. If anyone
is interested, I could scan in the pictures and either post them on
Bracker's website somewhere or just e-mail them to the list. The
slabroller is still in use in this district. It is kept at the district
warehouse and teachers can "check it out" for slabroller units as
necessary. I think it's somewhere between 15-20 years old.
