On the bags of clay from Seattle Pottery they have them marked
as cone 04 - 6, or whatever. The first number indicates their=20
recommended bisque temp and the second one refers to the=20
temp of full vitrification.
You might check with your clay supplier and see if this applies
in your case.
Refiring with a compatible slip and continuing on from there may
very well work for you.
