Yes, if you like music go on the river walk. They have an amphitheater that
features live performers. There is also an old mission in san Antonio that
has some pottery. I forget the name but I am sure that if you will get the
visitors material at the tourist center in San Antonio (or information
center) you'll be able to locate it. The "Royal Oaks Motel" is a very
romantic place to stay. It is a quaint place just off the mains roads with
large oaks growing in the middle of the road. And it is reasonable priced
too. The best place to go is Gruene pronounced green. but I am not sure of
the spelling but this is not near San Antonio it is near New Braunfels,
Texas and there is a pottery there. There is more in San Antonio you can
see in one vacation. We have been back several times. New Braunfels also
has the Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort, Go early not later it closes early
like 7:00 PM. Hope you enjoy your vacation. Gary Harvey, Palestine TX

This weekend is First Friday on S. Alamo Street from Durango to Probandt.
All the galleries and shops are open. Lots of people. Lots of fun.

La Villita - downtown collection of shops and lots of galleries. Pretty,
too.

Southwest School of Art and Craft. Big clay program. Beautiful old
nunnery.

You can pick up a gallery guide in La Villita for other places.

It's hot here..... And we're having flood-inducing rains....
