I put up a photo of John while he was taking a photo of my work at
Tsukamoto gallery. John is standing in front of a Hamada display:

We went to Kay Fudeya's show at Tsukamoto's. Kay finished his
apprenticeship with his grandfather just before me. Then we went to
Tomo Hamada's show, which was getting thin, at Kanoya Gallery. Also
saw a surprise show at Kyohan Center, in the 2nd floor gallery of the
largest shop there. The show was of Murata Gen (he studied with Shoji
Hamada & didn't begin pottery until his 40s.) which also included work
by Hamada. Got to touch many fine Hamada matchawan. I think this
show coincides with the big Murata Gen show at the Messe. There are
no good web pages of his work up, so I am thinking of putting one up
about his work.
After that, we went to Mugendo's antique and junk shop. John
found a couple items there that wouldn't weigh his luggage down too
much. :-)
