Odd that after all this time of dashing madly
from clay to clay ..... glaze to glaze... form=20
to form... firing schedule to firing schedule....
each multiplied by 20 or so at
least at any given studio moment..... my=20
Clay Self seems to be maturing
and finding its own way to all the great advice
I've received from the Best anywhere. It is beyond
satisfying. =20

Right now I'm making cylinders..... all sizes
of cylinders ..... and generally altering them in=20
some perhaps small way by paddling or denting
or ruffling or gouging or twisting or carving ....=20
whatever comes to
mind. I don't believe I've had a more satisfactory
clay experience. Do I feel I'm right back where I
began which was with cylinders, albeit some were
3 or 4 inches in height?? Not a bit of it. I'm
bringing several years of experience and learning
to these cylinders. I feel that I'm where I should
be and doing what I'm meant to do for now. Who
knows? I may even put lids on my cylinders
eventually...... or legs.... or ....... but not
just yet.

This is what you've been telling me all along,
right? ...... what you meant by "sticking with
one something until you get it." I'm now
seeing that "getting it " could take a very
long time. Indeed.

Thank you.
Joyce
In the Mojave having just done the 3 a.m. feeding
for my new six week old African Gray parrot
named Rebel. The westie is dizzy with delight!
Frustrated, too ..... she and I both know with
what speed her little controlled quick kisses
could be overwhelmed by that Ol' Devil Instinct....
Whatever...... MoJo hasn't eaten nor napped
since Rebel entered our demesne...... appears
absolutely enchanted ..... as am I.
