Here we are this creative, artistic, brilliant bunch of mudpuppies, all =
longing for bamboo tools. And some of us live surrounded by bamboo =
forests, parks, groves, whatnot, some even complaining that the stuff is =
an invasive nuinsance.....When, oh when, oh when will someone come up =
with the i-dear that:=20
as lots of organizations want activities for youn'uns in Summer
money raising devices for same
a small business could be made cutting fat bamboo into 18" lengths. =
SELLING IT TO POTTERS!!!!!!!! From selling it to potters they could =
progress to selling it to others: as bird house material, bird feeder =
material, etc. (longlist in developement)
Would I pay $5 for an 18" piece of 3 or more inch diameter bamboo? Sure =
I would. Would others? Prob'ly. Surely if it is for charity....
Names come to mind: Bamboozle, of course. In approriate of =
course....but fun.
Bamboona; Bambamboo; Pandateria.... None good, but this was thunk up =
at 3:00 AM--the old person's most awake hour of teh night....
PS> Ok. Heading long list: I once bought and since have imitated a salt =
or spice dispenses of bamboo. A piece was cut about 6 inches long in a =
2" diameter bamboo stick. One end was open, the other was closed by =
that natural division in bamboo. The top was fitted with a cork,. and a =
small hole had been drilled in the lower end, just about 1/4 " above the =
"natural" bottom (about 1/2" from bottom of actual bottom). They used a =
small bamboo twig to close hole. I use small corks.
