Yeah, I did about 3 years ago and I mailed out a lot of pictures of
it to people who asked for them back then. I can get the pictures out
again if anyone is interested.

Hi Clayart
Has anyone out there made a spray booth using the inside shell of a =
discarded refrigerator?
If so, do you have any suggestions on what to do and what to avoid?

you'd definitely want to make sure you had adequate ventilation.. not sure
how you'd rig that up with a fridge. we followed a friend's example and made
a spray booth out of an old shower stall. its easy to hose out with the
drainage hole on the bottom. we've got a big ole blower up top that does a
fairly good job of sucking stuff out, though we always use a mask. vents
directly outside. you could just as easily cut a hole for a fan in the back
wall of the stall as well, if you wanted to go that route. sorry that
doesnt really help you re making a fridge as a spraybooth does it? would be
interested to hear the modifications you make to it to make it work as one
though.

just got another old fridge to use for a damp cupboard here and am getting
ready to fill it up. :)

have a good day :)

Um...I'd avoid locking myself inside, to start. ;)

Most spraybooths I've ever seen have a fan in back to draw out the
overspray. How're you gonna cut through that? I think this might make a
good damp box tho! :)

Hi John,

I don't think I am understnding this..

Unless it were a very large refridgerator indeed, like
"Walk-In-Cooler", it could
not very well be a 'Spray Booth' I don't think, but would be
(merely)
a spray 'box' of sorts...

I do not see how there would be any advantage to trying to
adapt a refridgerator to become a positively-vented spray
box...

But, to
be used for an easy 'Damp Box', certainly...would work fine
I think...

If you want to build a small Spray Box, as could sit on some
sort of table, desk or stand, find something like
a Crate or an existing 'box' whose back would permit an
opening, or various small or medium openings to be
made...fit a large,
cheap
box-fan close behind it...fit a light to it's top's
underside...and you are done...

I suppose you could use an old refridgertor to do this, but
it would be a mite narrow I think, and maybe not very deep
as well, and
so too could you use just about anything else, like an old
gutted tee-vee or an old cabinet of some kind, or a
Washing-Machine or
'clothes-drier' even...but why bother?

You could also just get some plywood, or some sheeting of
some sort like 'viscoline', or 'milar' or cardbord
even...and some two-by-twos or angle Iron
or
heavy wire...and build one to the depth and width and shape
you may prefer.

Thats what I'd do...

That and have a way to rotate the item being sprayed...that
and do it out doors anyway...or venting out of a door, or
just be out doors, where one could also have just had the
breese to one's back without any booth or box...

If you re going to be spraying indoors, you would need to
have
this 'fan-box' aginst a window or door or some kind of
opening to the outside
anyway...

So depending on the window height...you'd need to have it
align heightwise, more or less with that...
