An acquaintance in another city has sent me the specs on a just purchased
used Duncan "The Boss Kiln". I do not live near this person and am not
familiar with that kiln that's why I'm asking for help. My acquaintance is
interested in any information or manual that might be available and of
value in learning how to fire that kiln.

Here's the specs:

MLD.#EA1229-2
SERIAL #R00039
AC VOLTS 240 PHASE = 1
AMPS= 45 AMPS WITH OPTIONAL COLLAR OR WATTS =10800
MAX TEMP = 2300F CONE =8
KILN SITTER MODEL #LT-3K

When Duncan discontinued manufacturing kilns in 1996, they arranged for
Paragon to sell Duncan kiln parts. We sell parts for the EA-1229-2. You can
also buy Duncan manuals from us or download them free at www.paragonweb.com.
(Click on "Manuals.")

I suspect Arnold will also reply to this and probably with more
information, but just in case he misses it, Paragon sells all the Duncan
kiln parts now. I'm not certain if they have manuals. They're phone
number is 1-800-876-4328. Our kiln tech, David, has worked on and is
familiar with The Boss Kiln. Your friend can also call and talk to
him. Our phone number is (888) 822-1982. Good luck!
