Now, you all knew I was going to fall in love with that glaze name. Noir
though means black, so it got me figuring. I have this gold lustre but its's
gold brown. To get the noir then perhaps I will do my crick glaze ala Dick
Aerni and add big cobalt to the tune of about 7% for black gold. I do not
have the time nor the inclination to do over 100 tests. Far too much
information for my little brain to process. I think it best to do fewer
tests and look at the results with more scrutiny. I will make 100 little
bowls and do maybe five tests and then sell them. I sell most of my tests.
that's the kind of capitialist pig that I am.
check out my gold on Photobucket -pardon the amatuer photos, it is hard to
capture the gold http://photobucket.com/albums/v74/sourcherry/
In search of the perfect Pinot.
cheers,
Tony
P.s Two galleries showed up this morning, one at 9:30 and one at 11:30. The
entire kiln load is sold which shows big potential for the shino not quite
noir. Not what i'd like to do during the tourist season but it is down here
and we have a standard of living to maintain. Fire again next week with
shino noir.

Hey "Wine Lover",

if you want pix of my other Shinos Noirs, let me know
and I will send.

Maybe we should drink Pinot Noir out of wine cups
glazed with a Shino Noir.

Yo T: I thought that glaze name would get your juices flowing . I'll
take a couple of photos of some of my vintage bottles of Shino Noir and
put them up for you to see. I think that the iron in the soil helps to
produce a good bottle of Noir ;-) he he. But you already know that.
I've also added a little chrome every now and then, for a rich full
bodied , yet easy on the palate sensation, for the discriminating
connoisseur.
Now if I could find the perfect cheese to compliment it.
Hmmmmmmmm.

Edouard: Or how about bottling some Pinot Noir in some sweet looking jug
glazed with Shino Noir, why stop with wine cups. Still looking for the
perfect cheeze that go's with it.

thank you to all for your kind offers to room with me at NCECA. I will be
bunking with fellow wino Mr. Shino Noir Hank Murrow.
I have a fond memory of sharing a bottle of Oregon Pino Noir with Hank and
Liz Willoughby in Baltimore. Maybe we had two bottles.
It is going to be great to be with y'all.
Ciao,
Tony

Not only wine, but Hank brought cheese and crackers too, I think! If I
remember right, judith, Sheila, you and Hank were there. For some reason,
Judith and I had a huge room, which accommodated us all very nicely for the
wine and cheese. Ron and I are going to extend our trip and visit some
sites in Oregon, hopefully we can find some good Pinot Noirs along the way.
Baltimore was a little scary at night, but the conference was great.

Liz from Brighton, Ontario, Canada
who drove home from Toronto yesterday and along the way passed many cars
that were totalled. . .horrible driving conditions. . .had a nice glass of
vino when I got home.
