terra sig + raku = pop-offs??--naked!

that explains it to me, why all those 'naked raku' pieces, which
had burnished terra sig under the clayslurry and glaze,
had no problem with stuck and burned on clay after firing and cleaning...
its a piece of cake to "undress" those pieces, because the terra sig
'shakes them off'...
now, i understand, thank you dannon!

Here's one for you,thinking that if I burnished the
clay first and then applied the terra sig, that my
piece would be really smooth. Well the burnishing
served to seal the clay and the terra sig didn't stick
in spots. I opened the kiln and saw a beatiful piece
and as soon as I picked it up, terra sig started to
come off in spots like shattered egg shell. On another
piece that I didn't burnish,same firing, the sig
stayed. The lessons learned, W.
