Okay, okay, okay.
We're back to the blue thing again.
I have shelves full of stuff to glaze and have been worrying over it.
I just made a monumentous decision:
Blue it shall be.
I will, however, scrape some off for texture,
scrafitto some for fun, and throw on a little something else so I don't =
get too bored.
But if I'm going to please my public (ha!), blue it is.
A variety of 'em.
greenish ones, purplish ones, pale ones, brilliant ones.
Done is done.
I'll let you know when I'm rich and have empty shelves.
Maybe the color of money really is blue.

I wish I'd bought this T-shirt I was once, captioned "The Art Prostitute".
It had a picture of a woman in bed, with a dialogue balloon that said, "You
want that in blue? Just leave the money on the dresser".

Sorry, I can't resist mentioning that Leslie Ceramic Supply in
Berkeley, CA makes and sells a very nice cone 10 blue called Shibui
Tsunami. I've fired it both in reduction and oxidation on porcelain and
stoneware. In oxidation on porcelain it is its most solid blue, but
with subtle variegation. On something like Rod's Bod or Tuff Buff you
can get the blue with small streaks of green and rust all through it
that make me think that's what a tsunami must look like - although I
have never seen a tsunami. Regular big Pacific waves have that sort of
look just before they break.

Anyway, it's a nice blue glaze, in my opinion. I currently have no mugs
with that glaze on them right now, having sold them all at the last
show I was in.

To give equal time here I must add that I also sold all the shino mugs
I had, too.

And to further add to a discussion of color and color perception, I saw
this article online this morning:

http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/package.jsp?name=fte/womencolor/
womencolor

Which is about why women see variation of color in the red-orange
spectrum better than men do.
Enjoy!

Paul:
A local gallery here is selling "art slut" t-shirts. Not quite the
same as an art prostitute, I suppose, but...

No connection, but I wear the shirt
