Red Iron Oxide. It's almost always abbreviated, whereas Black Iron Oxide almost
never is, and is distinguished from Spanish Red, which is always spelled out though
it is also a red iron oxide.

Isn't it great how we confuse people with these things?

Patricia, it means Red Iron Oxide.
Other abbreviations include carb for carbonate, i.e. copper carb.
Neph Sy means nepheline syenite.
Silica and flint are the same thing.
There's lots to learn, isn't there?
