Mitch, pour some slip out on a slab. While still very green cut it to a
4X8 size, allow to dry then measure it. Fire it and measure again. This
way you can get the numbers you need to develope the percentages for
sizing of your models for your molds.

Am going to try slip casting some "common" bodies to
leverage work. Question is about shrinkage. I need
to know so I can make the masters and turn the wood
forms large enough to accommodate the shrinkage.

I fire b-mix to ^6 with 11% shrinkage and to ^10 with
15% shrinkage. If I use a b-mix slip, will the
shrinkage be greater or the same?

Thanks, John...just like we do with clay clay marking
a 10cm line in it. Great suggestion!! Have not
worked with slip, so was at a loss, about to call into
clay-seller tech support.
