Thanks Tony.

I like to apply my ash for runny drips. I have an
Irabo that likes to run. I apply it like my teacher does: dip a
thin coat on the bottom and a thicker coat at the top. He would just
add water to the bucket for the thin coat. This go round I brushed
the thin coat on the bottom. It dawned on me, that this glaze moves
so much, that there would be no problems about the brush marks smoothing
out.

The other thing I try to do with the irabo pots is have
horizontal rings running around them as buffers and also slanting
vertical edges to give the drips more territory to travel over. This
might work with heavy kiln ash too.
