Hello,

Does anyone recall having seen the work of an artist who has fired
books, either as is, or soaked in slip?

thanks,

Book pages are often made with kaolin. One of our graduate students
for her thesis show about five years ago fired books. A Japanese
artist named Yohei Nishimura also fired books and some other pretty
interesting things (an iron, I believe). Can't help you with images.

Nope, but throughout history there have been numerous periods where book
burning was fashionable.
