Here is timely information about an upcoming workshop - please forward
to all that might be interested:

Central Carolina Community College Pottery Studio presents:

SALT GLAZE, SINGLE FIRING WORKSHOP with JOE COLE

Joe Cole, Seagrove area potter, former apprentice of Mark Hewitt, will
be teaching a workshop on making, glazing, and firing pots in a salt
kiln. He will cover topics including clay bodies, aethetics, making ash
glazes, applying glazes to leather hard pieces, firing a gas salt kiln,
and more. A different firing schedule must be followed in order to fire
pieces to cone 10 that have not yet be bisqued. Students will be able
to take part in all aspects, including loading and unloading the 100
cubic foot gas kiln, applying wadding, and salting.

DATES and TIMES:
Sat Sept. 4th 10am to 5pm
Fri Sept. 10th 5pm to 9pm
Sat Sept 11th 10am to 5pm
Sun Sept 12th 1pm to 5pm
Sat Sept 18th 10am to 5pm

Total class time of 25 hours

Space is limited to 12 students.

Fee (not including clay) only $55.00 (includes firing and glazes--there
should be space for each person to fire 10-20 pieces, and likely more)
Clay cost $10 per 25lbs.
