Maid O'Mud on tue 31 aug 04
Hi all:
I've read many times on clayart that if/when my zinc gets lumpy, simply =
calcine. So, yesterday I included a bisque bowl with 1 kg of lumpy zinc =
in my bisque firing to my usual ^04.
Today, I have warm, lumpy zinc ox. Can anyone tell me what I did wrong?
Many TIA

Dear Sam Cuttell,
Nothing done wrong so far as I can see.
All you need to do now is to break your lump of Zinc oxide down in a
mortar with a pestle. It should mull down into a fine powder.
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis.
