I rec'd a private e-mail suggesting I put the calcined zinc in a blender =
(non-kitchen) so I went to the local thrift store and purchased an old =
one with 2 tops (so when I ruin one set of blades I have a back up). =20

What do you know - after a very few minutes I had the baby powder I've =
been seeking! Great tip!! NB I covered the lid with plastic wrap to =
make darn sure that no dust escaped - then waited 12 hours before =
opening it.

JH and TB suggested low firing (ie oven temps) to see what happens. I =
will definately try that AFTER this heat spell ends, and try to remember =
to post results to the group.
