I have been a lurker for sometime now but I have been looking for info =
on glazes with a high (60%) content of Magnesium.( if that is correct?).
What I am looking for in my glaze is a recipe for a highly textured =
surface. Fissures and blisters that actually come off the surface and =
bubble like a volcano. (some works of John Chalk have this effect as =
well as James Lovera are good examples.)
I do obnoxious pieces that need an obnoxious glaze and I cant seem to =
find one.
the other question is if there is such a glaze like that for a=20
^ 6, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
P.S.
I will be in Seattle in December, if there are any workshops on the =
burner could someone let me know?

Susan, I have been teaching workshops on volume mixtures that can
give incredibly obnoxious results
All forms of textured glaze surfaces have been a part of my interest,
my ceramics, and workshops for many years now. Guidelines and
starting points are contained in Series #1 collection Glaze texture
posters listed on the web site.
There are also a few articles there that might interest you under the
