heat sinks for bisq...how large is large?

Well, Gail, if you aren't having a problem with bowls cracking in your
bisque firing, don't worry about it.
I start taking extra precautions in stacking and cooling when I am
firing bowls about 18 inches in diameter or larger.

I think perhaps the size of your kiln also matters. My kiln is about
27 inches in diameter, which leaves just 4 inches between the rim and
the wall for an 18" bowl. If your kiln is smaller, you might need to
think about preventing these possible problems when firing smaller
sized bowls.

Thanks, David!

I know, size is relative. I am not sure if I can even throw a bowl that large, but I will try, someday soon. I think it will fit in my kiln!
