Is this wheel as durable as the ones with steel frames? I was
looking for a used wheel but haven't been able to find one in three
months, so that's not an option. Also, I'm on a TIGHT budget and
have very limited space... So far I have found mixed reviews from
when it came out and was wondering if anybody here has been using
one of this Artista wheels for a considerable lenght of time and is
happy with it?

thanks in advance...

I have had one since they have been on the market. I use it mostly to demo
and to trim. But I have found very little limitation to it. I don't know
that I would throw 6 foot pots on it daily. but I don't know that I
wouldn't, it has never let me down. When I demo in front of general public,
I like to make large pots, between 10 to 15 lbs ( I have thrown 25lbs)and
it came through like a trooper. I use a Steward Thomas kick wheel on a daily
basis and I would recommend that wheel. It too is an relatively inexpensive
wheel. And after using it for 6 years. I added a motor which I only use in
centering.
The Artista wheel is a good wheel but I don't think it was intended to
be a work horse. The steward Thomas is.

THANKS!!! I which I could order one of those Steward Thomas
kickwheels or find an Estrin of randal use wheels but shipping
things here cost way to much... about us$160 for a Brent EI, you can
imagine a Kickwheel... Even the Artista is going to be about $95.

BTW, do you feel the hand speed dialer on the Artista works alright
or should I buy the footpedal if I decided to buy one?

thanks again
