Well, since no one else is commenting:
The new museum is in Pomona Calif. in old town Pomona. ( that is very
near Scripts where Paul Soldner was a teacher for many years).
The opening was a retrospective of Pauls work and very well presented
in this beautiful new exhibition space. The Museum itself is a very well
renovated building in old town Pomona. I heard rummors that they spent
over a million on the renovations.
The opening show was probably the most lavish I've attended. The food
and wine were top quality and truely unending despite the large turn
out.
As with many openings, it was difficult to really view the work on
display. Just too many people. Of those I saw were , of course, Paul
Soldner and friend Kathy Koop, along with Fred Olson, Dr. John Conrad,
Steve Horn and John Hopkins from Riverside CC, Les Haworth III and
Gabriela ( Laguna Clay), Karen Sullivan (bamboo karen), and so many more
old friends.
I was told that Tom Colman and Elaine were there but couldn't find them.
During the opening they showed the new CD of Paul Soldners life and
work. Really great production on that.
This Museum is a major ceramics showcase for southern california. They
have done major renovations and such to the building to make it a
premier showcase.
I wish I could give you their web site but it eludes me right now. Maybe
Karen Sullivan could post that.
Nice part of the post opening was driving down the california inland in
Dr. Johns convertable Mercedes on a warm summer night to my home in
Vista, CA.
If you live in so. calif. go see this museum and the show. It is
fantastic and I'll be going up to see it again.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for the review of Soldner's "opening". Sounds like the AMCA is
going to be an awesome showcase for ceramic art... God knows, we need more places
like these in the country. Wish I was back there on the left coast to attend,
as Soldner has always been sort of an inspiration for me. Sounds like a great
turnout though.
Thanks again for keeping us all up to date!
Best wishes,
- Ken
