You have no idea how happy the suggestion to cut up rejected sofas on =
the sidewalk made me! It's just the sort of thing I love! =20
However: I checked with Poison Control Center years ago, when I read =
about Michael Cohen burning the foam rubber tyo make stamps--and learned =
that the gas given off is cyanide gas. No idea if composition of foam =
rubber has been changed--as such gas would be a disaster of its own in a =
house fire--but I will stick with cutters, and small scissors till =
corrected.

When I carve polyurethane foam for stamps I use
Jan's electric knife to slice blocks & I carve the
patterns with a knife heated over the gas stove,
the window is open & I don't inhale.
In fact, the greatest danger is Jan catching me
using her good butter knives over the gas flame :)
