I, too, find that air blown into the peep hole reveals
a cone's condition; however, I don't like being so
close to the peep hole..... what if we have an earthquake?
Even one sharp jolt...... or not so sharp jolt..... could
send me flailing against the peep.=20

What I've been doing
for the last few loads is use one of those bellows (a cheapie
..... sometimes found in thrift shops) ..... ours hangs by the
fireplace and is never used anyhow. One squeeze of the
bellows and the cones are highlighted perfectly. I DO
stand back and don't place the bellows any closer than
a foot to the peep...... learned that the hard way..... I
thought the Evils from the Deep were comin' out to get
me for a few seconds..... scary. =20

The miscellany part is that I had many a chortle from
Tom Sawyer's post about the hurricanes .... better than
a standup comic.... an even darker side to my laughter
I'm sure
was the knowledge that he's probably going to Get It
Big Time for many of his remarks. Now what kind of
friend is that, you ask. As best I can figure, the exact
kind of friend he's earned. Do be easy on Tom.... he
was kidding, after all, and making light of a really horrific
situation....... =20

The other part of the misc is that, along with so many
claybuds, I really don't comprehend how you're making it
through one blow after another. Not funny one bit and
I know it. It seems so little to offer to say that many of
us care very deeply about your plight .... keeps us aware
too that we are not immune .... none of us is immune to
nature's disasters..... a situation that appears calm today
can go to h*** in a handbasket tomorrow. I'm telling
you? At any rate, I'm continuing to receive posts asking
about individual claybuds and to say pass on our prayers
and good thoughts ..... which I am now doing.

In the Mojave after a day spent mentoring ...... no chance
to do my own work this day...... lots of progress being
made and they're having such fun..... as am I. Son came
by and planted hollyhocks and a bamboo-like grass ....=20
the latter was against his better judgment but he conceded....
re-planted one of the 8 palo verde trees, too ...... not supposed
to need much water but it was the last one out on the
drip line...... a rabbit sliced through the hose..... and #8
didn't seem to get it about the water....... it was dying
majorly.
