Scott Goldberg, one of the very talented, nationally recognized potters =
who
participate in the annual Old Church Cultural Center show and sale, is
giving a workshop Oct 23/24, Sat and Sun from 9:30 AM to 4 PM.
Those of you who have been to the show know how remarkable his work is, =
even
in that setting, and when compared the work of Jeff Ostreich, Malcolm =
Davis,
Jeff Shapiro and others who also show here.
To quote from the workshop description:
"In this workshop students will be guided in the transition of an idea =
to
the actual 3-dimensional form. Through demonstration and individual =
hands-on
guidance, students will gain help with specific problems encountered in
throwing forms, making handles, lids, spouts, etc. Emphasis will be =
placed
on balancing function and comfort with the desire to make an object that =
is
visually interesting or pleasing."
Any of you doing functional, wheel-thrown pottery ought to come!
