=?WINDOWS-1252?Q?bie=85?=

A couple of hazards have come up on this thread that are worth
mentioning. One is the "spacers" that prevent the elements from
contacting the case of the kiln. Not only might they prevent a fire,
blown circuit, fried wiing or burnt out element the spaces also prevent
a chance of electrocution. Having the possibility of the case of the
kiln connected to a 220V line should be enough to convince someone to
be careful.

Another hazard i have not heard mentioned is element pins. If the are
too long they can contact the case.

The third is the propane torch used to heat elements to bend them back
into the slots in the firebrick. The propane tank is a small bomb and
must be stored away from possibility of much heat. It should never be
set down in or near the kiln.
