I just received a phone call from a relative who has an aquaintance that
is a curator of a museum which includes a collection of pottery from
various ages. They are making a video about the history of pottery and
are needing to film a segment in the video which shows the use of a
kickwheel.

Any potters that live near Chattangooga TN that would be interested in
being filmed using a kickwheel?

If so, please contact Giselle Hasel at: ghasel@southern.edu

I am only the messenger and know nothing about this project. Please
send all questions to Giselle.

Thanks.

I'm not exactly near chatanooga, but 4-5 hrs southe 30 miles south of
columbus. I use treadle wheels and Kickwheels at Westville, living History
museum. It is a good place to film if they want to make the trip.

I use a kickwheel and am about 2 hours north-west of Chattanooga, in
Franklin. It's just below Nashville.

OLD 'RANDALL' KICKWHEEL ALUMINUM WHEELHEAD NEEDED. I RECENTLY BOUGHT A
TRACTOR SEAT TYPE RANDALL WHEEL AT AN AUCTION. IT HAS A 9" BOWL TYPE HEAD THAT FITS
ONTO A TAPERED 1" SHAFT. LOOKING FOR AN 14" ALUMINUM WHEELHEAD THAT I CAN
DRILL AND TAP TO ACCEPT A MASONITE BAT. TRIED MAKING A PLASTER BAT TO FIT INTO
THE BOWL, CAN GET IT CLOSE TO BALANCE BUT STILL HAS A SLIGHT WOBBLE. ANY INFO
WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I AM TOLD THAT RANDALL IS OUT OF BUSINESS FOR ABOUT TEN
YEARS. THANKS, MILLARD
